“We came to look at Princess Leia at the shelter in 2020. We wanted a companion for our dog, Bear, and our family. Upon meeting Princess, she was very quiet and reserved.

Princess had a seizure and collapsed in my oldest daughter’s arms. We knew the risk, but we loved her and still chose to adopt her. Our youngest child, who has autism, wouldn’t talk when we adopted Princess. Over time, Princess stopped having seizures. Simultaneously, our youngest daughter started to talk. Our family adores Princess, and she provides comfort if any of us are sick or sad. She has truly been therapy for us all, including when Bear passed. Princess has come into her own and has her own voice. Thank you for bringing her into our lives.

Not only did we save her, but we truly believe she saved us.”
