‘We did not give up on him’ June 6, 2025

“We adopted Hank (NHS name and we kept it) on December 8, 2022. He was a Diamond Dog, we are not sure of his history before we adopted him, but it did take time, patience and a lot of love and training to get Hank to fully trust us.

There were a couple of times we thought ‘we can’t do this,’ his demeanor would change and he would be uncomfortable with us. This was not the normal.

We knew he was a sweet dog most of the time. We worked with him, reassured him this was his forever home, and trained him to correct bad behaviors. Today, Hank is a sweet dog, very curious in a good way, and loves going on walks and car rides. I’m grateful we did not give up on him and he did not give up on us. We love him very much!”
