‘Truly a full circle moment’ July 25, 2025
“Shortly after my husband and I moved into our first apartment together in early 2016, we were considering adopting a dog and got word of a sweet puppy left at NHS overnight one night.
He was sick and only a few weeks old at the time. We immediately fell in love with him after hearing his story and seeing his pictures. After a few weeks of recovery in a foster home, we were finally able to bring our Archie home on March 15, 2016!
Archie is now 9 years old and thriving! He has been an absolute angel since the moment we met him. He makes us laugh every day and is such a smart, happy, and loving boy. He absolutely loves attention and is a lap dog through and through.
Archie has also followed in his dad Mike’s and grandma Cheryl’s footsteps (who have both dedicated many years of service and volunteering to the Nebraska Humane Society) as a volunteer himself at NHS’s Camp Kindness summer camp since 2023.
He absolutely LOVES meeting the kids each week, and it is truly a full circle moment – for him to be saved by NHS as a puppy and now play a part in educating future generations on interacting with and caring for animals. We are so thankful to NHS for bringing Archie into our lives! Congratulations on 150 years!!”
