‘This is my passion’ April 17, 2025
“As a 14-year volunteer at the Nebraska Humane Society, I have been blessed. I have been involved in dog walking, our PAWS adoption team, Animeals and ISO (for dogs with kennel cough). I also take shelter dogs on outings to parks, public places and community lakes to give them an opportunity to experience normal life outside of the shelter.
I am a retired teacher and have a great, understanding wife who knows just how much I love helping dogs. All this is possible with the friends and acquaintances I have made at NHS.
The staff and volunteers are wonderful, dedicated people who give hours of care and love each day to our furry friends. They don’t do this for fame or recognition but for the unconditional love they receive. There’s nothing better in the world than the look a dog gives you when you spend time with them. This is my passion, and I cannot think of any other place I would spend time than at Nebraska Humane Society. Congratulations on 150 years of service to the city of Omaha!”
