‘The best cat I could’ve ever asked for’ March 28, 2025

I have never had my own pet before and have always dreamed of having one. Around December of 2020, I moved out for the first time completely by myself. The world was coming out of a pandemic, and within the first few months I realized I needed a companion.

Like I said, I have always wanted a pet but leaned more towards dogs as that’s what I was around more growing up. But I decided to take a look at the cats online.

I was very hesitant, as I know cats have their own personalities, and I could risk getting one that wants nothing to do with me besides cleaning and feeding. When I saw Toast Malone, initially it was his name that caught my eye, but after reading the staff’s description and seeing his pictures, I knew I had to meet him.

I was scheduled to visit two cats the day I came in, and Toast was the first one. When they brought him in, the staff warned me that he takes a minute to warm up. Within seconds, he was sitting and purring on my lap. Needless to say, I did not see the second cat and now have the best cat I could’ve ever asked for!
