‘Sweet, big-headed pitbull named Noggin’ April 8, 2025
“In 2013, I realized I may need an Emotional Support Animal, so we decided to go to the Nebraska Humane Society to look at the dogs.
I absolutely fell in love with a sweet big-headed pitbull named Noggin. He was black with a few white blotches on his head and body.
Because we don’t live in Omaha, we didn’t have to worry about a muzzle law. Staff was incredibly happy he was going to be our new furbaby. He was four when he came home with us, and he was the sweetest, most loving dog we have ever owned.
When he was about 5 or 6, we had three babies that were always coming over. Noggin would curl up on the floor right next to them and make sure they were safe. If they cried, he would whimper and cry. He thought he was a cat for a while and tried to sleep on the back of our couch like they did. He thought he was human and slept on my husband’s side of the bed with his head on the pillow and body under the blankets. He also thought the couch was his bed and we all had to adjust accordingly even though he had an actual bed.
There was not a single person who met him who didn’t love him. He even made people who were afraid of pitbulls change their mind. There is not enough words to describe the 11 years we had him, and I am so thankful to the Nebraska Humane Society for helping us find him.”
