‘Such a rewarding experience’ April 9, 2025
“Boinky came into the shelter on April 30, 2024, as a medical surrender due to her throat swelling and her losing weight in the home.
Our Animal Medical Department have to drain an abscess on her throat, along with some other treatment. At this time, I was working in the Behavior Department, and I was asked to find a harness to fit her so she could be walked (couldn’t have a collar due to the drain). Immediately, when I saw her in the kennel, I knew that she had to come home with me! I adopted her when she was finished with her medical treatment and took her home as soon as I could.
We have been through a lot together: ear infections, a pebble stuck in her eye, environmental allergies, house training, etc. And while there are of course days that I get overwhelmed, she has become one of the most important things in my life. It has been such a rewarding experience to see her grow and growing with her!”
