‘Poe’s nurturing side continued to shine’ May 6, 2025

“When I adopted Poe (NHS Kalasha) in January of 2019, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my good friend but also the best foster mom to my foster kittens I could ever ask for.

I welcomed my first neonatal foster kittens in the summer of 2021. Poe was incredibly interested and motivated to investigate them. As the weeks passed, she could often be found with the kittens, grooming them and watching over them. When I would come by to check on them, Poe would peer up at me with a disgruntled look as if to ask why I was bothering her and HER kittens.

Under our care, the kittens grew up social and confident and found their forever homes. As future fosters passed through our house, Poe’s nurturing side continued to shine as she made the kittens feel comfortable and safe during their stay with us.”
