‘He was perfect’ June 8, 2025

“For Mother’s day last year, all I wanted was another dog to add to our home. I knew what dog I wanted before I even got there to only find out she was adopted soon before we got to NHS.

My family and I decided to stay and see all the other pups, that’s when we saw Shadow. He was lying on his bed with the saddest eyes, and my husband fell in love. I wasn’t sure just yet, so we decided to meet him, and he was perfect.

We’ve had many dogs but never a pitbull. There were some worries until I talked with a volunteer who had walked Shadow and had two pits of her own. She told me just how amazing he was! We were sold.

We brought Shadow home, and it was really the best decision we ever made. It’s like hes always been here. He is so sweet, loving, protective, gentle and a little bit naughty. We couldn’t imagine life without him!”
