‘He has become by best friend’ May 30, 2025

“I adopted Ira (originally named Hot Pocket) in May of 2021.

I went to the shelter that day to meet a few cats who I saw online that I was interested in meeting. Ira’s room was the last one I was visiting. As the adoption coordinator and I approached the room, she mentioned that he was quite a bit shy and told me that it may take him a while to warm up to me.

When I walked through the door, I approached him very slowly to make sure he didn’t get scared but as soon as I started petting him, he started purring very loudly and I immediately knew I needed to take him home. In the four years that he’s been apart of my family, he has become by best friend. He’s on the smaller side for a kitty but for what he lacks in size, he makes up for personality. He is, what some people would say, very much an orange cat.”
