‘Grateful for all the opportunities’ April 5, 2025
I started volunteering in the old building – it was during the last century! And we started fostering cats and kittens in 2002. (At the time of writing this, we have a mom and six babies). We have adopted numerous pets – dogs, cats, Guinea pigs.
One of our girls (Dinah) had been at NHS longer than any other dog. She came home with our two big dogs and three cats. She was the first NHS dog to pass CGC (she was a majority pitbull) and became a certified therapy dog. She attended numerous events with NHS and made lots of friends at hospitals and nursing home. Sherlock was another adoptee that became a certified therapy dog and was a fixture at several hospitals. We are grateful for all the opportunities we’ve been provided to care for animals at NHS!
