Employment Opportunities
We are seeking motivated and compassionate people with a passion for animal welfare.
Are you looking for something more than "just a job"? Then the Nebraska Humane Society is looking for you!
NHS seeks compassionate, energetic employees who want to make a difference in the lives of animals. Whether it's getting lost pets back home, caring for them while they are at the shelter, or finding new families to welcome them, we've got positions that impact our community in a positive way.
Beware: Hazards of the job include slobbery puppy kisses, grateful tail wags, and losing your heart to an animal in need. Benefits include dog walks over lunch and all the kitten cuddling you can stand. Join our team and offer hope to pets who need a second chance. See below for available openings to make a difference!
The Nebraska Humane Society is an equal opportunity employer, and we make all employment-related decisions without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, genetic information, veteran's status or any other protected characteristic.

Internships
The Nebraska Humane Society has a wonderful training opportunity in the form of an internship program. The program touches on various points of interest in the shelter, including Adoptions, Animal Care, Animal Medical and Behavior.
The internship is an unpaid opportunity for students who are currently age 15 years or older. Due to the nature of the program, we ask that students commit to at least 10 hours of service per week for three months. Opportunities are available year round.
Each opportunity allows for students to explore areas of personal interest, while gaining real-world career skills. Each unique internship opportunity at the shelter is designed to enhance the ability to work with animals.
What we need from you
