’10 volunteers came to say goodbye to him’ June 26, 2025

“I went to NHS late in the day one evening in August 2023 looking to adopt, but since I was there shortly before close, I was just looking and didn’t meet any of the dogs.

Later that night, I saw Romeo (NHS Wavy) posted on the NHS Instagram page. He was so handsome, and it broke my heart to hear that he had been there for over six months. I went back the next day to meet him! When I brought him home, about 10 volunteers came to say goodbye to him and see him off.

One of them was even crying because she was so happy to see him go home!

The last nearly two years with him have been a blessing, he is my best friend. He is so loving and sweet; I am so lucky.”
